What is it like to receive The Power from a traditionalist Ozark Mountain Healer? Brandon Weston, author, folklorist, and spiritual healer, will talk about receiving The Power and how these practices have changed since folklorists wrote popular accounts of hillfolk lives around the turn of the 20th century. We will discuss traditions of folk magic, healing, and witchcraft in the Ozark Mountain region and if the Magic is still here. Do the spells still work? If the older traditions have disappeared, what exacting new practices are being born in the region today amongst skilled healers and magical practitioners?
